Chassis system help. MDT or XLR???
Hello Everyone 😀 ,
I own Tikka t3 tac .308 (also a t3 lite in 223 but im not writing about this) and i love it! its a real nail driver of a rifle as it is but I am looking to Improve its performance and i will admit, its cool factor with a new chassis system.
I am however in a bit of a bind as to which chassis system to choose.
The MDT Tac21 or the XLR industries?
Or maybe even the AICS, though i have not read much good press about this. A lot of people say its overpriced with not much significant performance or improvement.I am not a bad shot and i love my long range precision shooting so any help/tips would be greatly appreciated.

For MDT :
Advantage : Tactical Look. MDT Magazine are cheap
Disadvantage : so difficult to put Tikka into chassis. Impossible to take off action, so it's difficult to clean barrel.For XLR :
Advantage : most beautiful chassis (for me). You can use MDT magazine
Disadvantage : you must use hight ring scope because forend have large diameterI have XLR chassis, so for me XLR is better 😉

What do you mean “hight ring scope because forend have large diameter”?
are you saying that if i have a rail on the forend that it sits higher than the scope? so it wont line up with my scope??

Hey, this is my first post. Although I've shot sakos for almost 30 years, I just bought my first tikka. I just took delivery of a LH sporter 308 with 24″ barrel. I outfitted it with a a 5-25×55 minox ZA 5tac. Its an outstanding scope and the system wowed me on its first trip to the range. Why buy a chassis? The stock is outstanding.

I have an XLR and its a machined work of art. Plus their customer service is outstanding.
Fully intend to pick up another as soon as I can.
