Bedding a tikka?
Posted by Bruno82 on December 25, 2018 at 7:53 pmHi I recently purchased a tikka t3x superlight and would like to know if it is possible to bed this gun, the local gun smith told me that it’s not worth bedding because ithe bedding adhesive won’t bond to this stock. Any thoughts ? Thanks

Just add aluminum pillars and a metal trigger guard bottom if you have the synthetic stock…
You can bed the stock but its not worth the effort, there was no additional accuracy gain when I experimented with it versus just adding pillars…

If you really want to improve your stock, there are several aftermarket options available from Boyd’s (which require some work) to GRS which I like. The GRS Berserk is my personal favorite which needs no bedding. Their Bifrost has a bit “plasticy” feel to it I have heard. Their laminated versions will benifit from bedding I have heard. Dog is more experienced than me regarding pillars in factory stocks. I am a fan of mountain tactical bottom metal in any case.
