Anyone WTB a T3 .300 Win Mag Takeoff Barrel?
Posted by J on September 15, 2015 at 5:58 pmI'm having my .300 Win Mag T3 Lite barrel replaced with a longer, heavier Bartlein and may sell the takeoff barrel if anyone is willing to offer sensible money for it. 46 load development rounds though it and was shooting just under MOA. Nothing wrong with it, I just decided I wanted a heavier, longer range rig. My gunsmith tells me there may be some small marks externally caused by the removal process as the T3 barrels are screwed in extremely tight, but bead blasting should fix that. Barrel is not threaded.
Thanks

Guess everyone has .223s and 6.5×55 SE.
What do you mean by this?

I mean that not many seem to have .300 Win Mags, that's all. Nothing to get excited or bent out of shape about.

So as I understand it, the barrel is fitted to your receiver. So that would mean that a take off would need to be fitted to the new action, probably by a gun smith?

The factory barrel was taken off my receiver so that I could have an after-market barrel fitted. The original barrel is ready to be fitted to a T3 receiver, but it would be wise to have a gunsmith do it and check the headspace.
