Another good experience with new Tikka Varmint
Posted by Waltert3varmint on November 7, 2015 at 8:10 pmBeen loading up some 69gr SMKs recently, using f.l. sized brass and WC844 (surplus) powder. Been pleasantly surprised with the results.
Shot this group this afternoon. Meant to shoot a five-shot group, but wound up with six shots, instead, as I lost count. 🙂
Image has been cropped, so it's way bigger than actual. Squares are 1″, so you can get an idea of the group size from that.

1 BullseyeYes, .223. I'm claiming that shot @ 5 o'clock as the flyer, even though I really don't know if it was the 1st or 6th shot! 8) I'm really happy with the Tikka rifle and pleasantly surprised at the 844 surplus powder. Glad I bought 90# of it, when I had a chance, @ $8 per #! 😉

21 BullseyesVery nice shooting!
Give us the details, like rifle and scope, weather whatnot lol
Tell a story is what I'm voting for -
1 BullseyeRifle, as noted, was my Tikka Varmint, 1-in-8″ twist barrel. Scope is 8-32x44mm Burris Signature series. Load was 23.8gr WC844, Wolf small rifle primers, LC brass. 69gr Sierra Matchkings.
I don't remember the wind and/or weather, but I don't shoot when it's cold and/or rainy, so it was probably a pretty calm, mild down down heah on Tobaccy Road. Trigger has been adjusted down to 1.5#.
