accuracy problem- tikka laminated 308
Posted by flashgordon_1 on April 8, 2018 at 7:20 amHi all, ive recently purchased a new tikka stainless laminated in .308.
Im having a terrible time trying to find a load and projectile type that will group at an inch or less at 100m.Im not new to reloading or to tikka (my tikka t3 lite in .243 regularly groups at .3-.4 MOA)
Has anyone had this issue and can offer any ideas?
Ive been using AR2208 powder (Varget) and have tried different brands of projectiles (mostly in 150gn)
Id prefer to stay in the 150gn weight. This has become very frustrating as ive never had to work this hard with my other tikkas.

First check that the barrel is fully floated and change the recoil lug if it’s a T3 I think the t3x is already steel

reciever screws tension?
I have the .308 T3 that still has the aluminum lug but it took a little tinkering with screw tension to get it to settle in. -

Also if you trying different action screw torques remember it’s in inch and not pounds

While all my tikkas (5) have been sub MOA with most factory and hand loaded ammo, I would try some other ammunition. That failing, I would not hesitate to return the rifle for service. My sympathies if returning it is a long and drawn out process.
