6.5 creedmoor
Posted by Craggy1982 on December 21, 2017 at 1:01 amI'm looking at buying another tikka. It's going to be chambered in 6.5 creedmoor. My question is has anybody tried out the new t3x lite in that chambering yet. I'm torn between buying the t3x lite and the t3x ctr 24 inch barrel. Will be mostly used for hunting applications but will see on occasion some bench shooting for fun

Let me rephrase the question. Does anybody on here hunt with the ctr 24 inch barrel in a mountainous setting? If you do, do you ever say to yourself that you wished you had the t3x lite? I'd be walking anywhere between 5-10 miles a day with a day pack. I'm leaning towards the ctr but i already use a t3 lite for hunting and love it.

Firstly great caliber , has for the lite or the ctr it’s realy down to you and your ability to carry a heavier rifle , but if it was me it would be the ctr , there’s been lots of people go with the lite and then start adding muzzle breaks etc and ending u with a rifle that has quite a bit of extra weight , and you have only the day sac to carry I wouldn’t of though a ctr carried with a sling would be a problem

I have a T3X CTR in .308 with a 16.5″ barrel. With a Titanium silencer (15 oz) and Zeiss HD5 3-15X42 it weighs exactly 10 lbs. I have a Manners EHT stock and Hardy 16.5″ carbon fiber wrapped barrel arriving shortly and am hoping to reduce the overall package weight to around 8.5 lbs, about what the T3X Light with similar scope would weigh, I believe. Only down side to the T3X Lite is groups may start to grow as barrel heats up if shooting off bench.
