1st Black Bear
Here's a picture of my first Black Bear. He wasn't big boy, just around 200lbs but enough to handle in the field for my first bear. Not a lot of fat on him so for his weight we got some good meat.
Came across him the last day of Deer season when my buddy and I took a final walk to see if he could get some meat for the freezer. We always have bear tags during Deer season just in case.
We split up to go around a small pond, my buddy went right, I stayed left and ran into this guy about 125yrds ahead of me in some brush. I was down wind so he didn't know I was there until I stepped on a branch and let the entire world know where I was. He turned around and stood up to look over some brush to get a better view of me and I was already staring at him through my scope. I launched a 180 Accubond from my T3 300wsm right under his chin as he was standing. Instant clean kill on his feet as he fell backwards. It was a great way to end an amazing week of Deer hunting.
