T3 stainless steel fluted HUNTER!
Posted by Twins on September 13, 2014 at 1:16 amI am struggling to find info on these guns. I was told scheels ordered just 1500 of these and beretta will NOT import them to the US again. I bought my 1st in nov 2012 and installed a KDF brake, limbsaver pad, and 1pc DNZ game reaper mount. The 2nd I scored from a friends client with just 13rds through it in MINT cond. both are 300WSM. I took my 1st buck with my hunting (brake, pad, mount) in 13' at 200yds on the run! LOVE THESE GUNS! Are they actually rare? Should I be “preserving” these or can I continue to use my favorite rifle for hunting/range.

To clarify, these are factory built WOOD stock T3 rifles with the stainless steel fluted barrels. I have not been able to find any info regarding these online or elsewhere except I see some online in Europe. My local gun shops manuals/price guides/etc. do not even list a hunter series T3 with a wood/stainless/fluted option. Not knowing anything about them other then a scheels salesman telling me “only made 1500 of these for us and will not make them again” story is frustrating. I find that a bit hard to believe but am starting o think he was maybe right after 2yrs of looking I have found not 1 of these online new or used for sale…

Thanks for looking, I was hoping for more traffic on this site. The only photo I can post of the rifles is my avatar, tried everything I could think of but all say there too big…

I have a T3 stainless Hunter (not fluted) in 30-06. I bought it at Scheels in Fargo 5 or 6 years ago but have not seen anything similar in a few years. Its a great hunting package!

I also bought mine in fargo, and the 2nd one I bought locally was originally purchased in fargo 2012 as well. I plan to just keep that oiled up and locked away in a silicone sock for my now 4yr old son, what better 1st rifle then a wood stock-sweet tikka (well, we can't all afford sako's!) I'm a FIRM believer in “buy American” and a true patriot of what our country USED to be. I went in unbiased for a rifle and after handling win model 70's browning a/x bolts savage ruger kimber mossberg etc it was a no brainer. The tikka felt like I expected a rifle to feel, and the others left ??? In my head. I won't even mention Remington as I'm surprised there even in buisness…?

Info from my inquires say its only available in North America through retailers with Camo or Black synthetic stocks…as the “super Lite” line…
The boys across the pond have the wood stock Hunter option…I'm sure it will find its way here at some point but who knows when that will be…
We can buy and import into Canada quite easily if you want to pay shipping but not sure about you guys in the US…

Thanks dog down, I have 2 I bought at scheels, just trying to see if they really only made 1500 of them and if there actually worth anymore because of it, my plan was to give them to boys when there older for hunting. Debating whether or not to drag em through the sticks or preserve them?

Meant they no longer import them, no longer available…none of the gun shops have any idea if or when they will see them in that combo…importing only the super lite series with synthetic stock to North america.
But they are readily available over sea's….
They'll import another batch at some point for sure but nobody knows when.
I would think because it's rare in the US it would hold a premium until they flood the market. -

That's what I was thinking yukonal! I snagged my 1st big buck In ND with one and bought them cause every boys 1st rifle should have a wood stock!

Thanks dog down! I came from a family that literally lived off the land, garden, fish and deer. My parents divorced when I was 9 and I never had $/place to hunt. I was 30 yrs old when I drew my 1st buck tag in 2012 and snagged this guy running partially away from me at almost 200yds with my tikka 300WSM! One (LUCKY) shot in the lung/heart and he stopped, looked back, and fell over. I'm looking forward to getting my boys involved in hunting and understating where our meat comes from? he scored 140 on Boone Crockett, not bad for a red river valley ND deer just 12 miles out of Fargo.

Thats awesome! I hunt with a Tikka 300WSM as well…Same shot placement as the first Deer I took with my rifle. Tipped the heart and lungs…one hope with a kick and flop…but your shot was harder for sure. I hit mine at about 100yrds broad side, I had him in the scope and whistled to him and he stood still like a statue! 180gr Nosler Accubond @ 2900fps folded him up pretty good…Thats my go to round for all hunting.
I love the cartridge, and its pretty easy to reload and accuracy is great.
I bagged 2 Deer and a Black Bear with it this year. Love the gun and I'll be hunting with it for a long time! You reloading or shooting factory ammo through yours?
