    6,5×55 Ackley improved.
130 Gr. Norma VLD bullets at slow 3000 fps.
Barrel is factory, standard, Only thing I have done to it is rechamber it for ackley improved.

Action is not bedded, it's just against the aluchassis.

Here is a 100 meter five shot group shot from prone.

The gun have shot well over 2000 rounds, probably 2500 rounds.
This group of five rounds was shot yesterday by a friend who never shoot rifles…..:)

I think Tikkas are remarkable, match accuracy, without blueprining or special barrels:)

    Håkan

    Hi Hakan ,
Very nice rifle in a very nice calibre!!
    I am too running a 6.5-55 Ackley with 50 grains of Viht N160 and the 123 A-max @ 3000fps!!
May i ask what powder you are using to run the 130 Normas?? , are these same used in the Norma Diamond line factory?? if so are these the berger 130 VLDs???
Thanks and all the best ,
    Ray.

Thanks for the info Ray.  Did your gunsmith bed the Tikka action into the stock?  Or was he able to just drop it in?

I looked up Cornwall and learned something new.  That looks like a very nice part of the world.  The temperature range looks very comfortable for me, (I like it a bit cooler).  I live on the eastern edge of the Rocky Mountains in the state of Colorado.  There are quite a few people who live in this area so I have to travel a bit to get to truely open area.

    Take care!    –    Todd

    Hi Todd ,
My gunsmith just releaved the forend so it would be a a good fit for the light varmint profile barrel!!!!
Thankyou for your comments too about where i live , i should imagaine the view of the Rocky Mountains must be fantastic where you live too!!!
    All the best ,

Very impressive Ray!  Thanks for sharing your success with us.  You certainly have a sweet shooter there!

What part of the UK are you able to do this sort of thing?  I'm in the US and just curious.

    Thanks  –  Todd

    Thanks Todd 😉
I reside in a place called Cornwall , we are fortune to have good rolling valleys giving us good chances of safe long range shooting!!
Got lovely coastline around us too – so great for a spot of sea fishing too!!!
I like my longrange varminting , but i also go Deer stalking too!!!
    Heres another photo out varminting…
