Talley's are well respected in the industry. Make sure they are properly installed and tightened to specification and feel confident in your equipment. Hunt safe!

I have a pic of the gun with the B&C stock and a pic of the target I shot this weekend. It's dark out when I get home so I had to take the pics indoors which doesn't help the color detail but I can e-mail these pics to someone to post up.

I'll take some pics tonight but I'll probably need help getting the pics posted. FYI, I contacted Bell & Carlson and they said the action screws should be tightened to 50 inch pounds in case anyone was wondering.

OK, initial results are in. I went to the range this morning (15 degrees and almost 2 feet of snow in the last couple days). My first 3 shot group, with a load that I developed for this rifle using the factory stock, measured .467″. I'd say that's a winner! I could see small differences in my sight pictured when the shot went off so I think it is safe to say that if my holds had been perfect this probably would have been a quarter inch group. To make things even better there was at least a couple hundred elk hanging out on the hillside adjacent to the range and they couldn't have cared less about the shooting going on. That was fantastic!
The next group I shot was not a load that I developed or even previously fired in this rifle. It was something I had loaded for a long since gone Husqvarna 270 in the 90's. This load put 3 rounds in a 1.0″ triangle. I imagine with a little load development I could easily turn this into a sub 3/4″ group load.
So, as you can probably gather I'm very pleased with my initial results and look forward to many years of excellent service from my Tikka/Bell & Carlson combo. Looks pretty sweet too.

This gun is better (by a little) than 1 MOA for 3 shots with ammo it likes on a consistent basis. Sometimes groups were considerably better than 1 MOA but rarely over. Fine shooting rifle. Any bad groups were operator error I'm sure. I'm hoping to get out this weekend but the forecast is calling for more than a foot of snow tonight and tomorrow so that might put the kabosh on outdoor activities.

I posed the question to Beretta, specifically asking about the T3, and they replied with 51-53 lbs.

That looks seriously wicked!
What's that saying, the difference between men and boys is the price of their toys. Nice toy!
On the topic of muzzle brakes, I have one on a 6.25lb 300WSM and it turns that recoil beast into a pussy cat. Seriously, the recoil is hardly any different than a 243, absolute cream puff, but you must wear your hearing protection or you will damage your hearing. Wear hearing protection every time, even hunting, no exceptions.

I am very curious to hear about your testing of that Ultra-Lite stock. Do tell what you are finding. Do you have any pics, I'd love to see some pics. Hard to believe that any laminate stock can be as lightweight as the factory plastic stock. Love the idea of a drop in stock that is the same weight but much stiffer.

Does anyone know what the Helmrick Ultra lite laminate stock for the Tikka T3 weighs? Is it a straight drop in? Is it more stable than the factory plastic stock?
