Hi,
I have recently taken delivery of a Tikka T3 Super Varmint and it also has 5 screws in the Picatinny-rail.
According to the manual the front most screw (part number 89 in manual) is called a “Shoulder screw”.
This screw does not tighten down flush with the rail. I originally through that the screw was loose and tried to tighten it but all this did was slightly bend the up the front of the rail. Further investigation showed that there is no corresponding hole in the action.
Is this “Shoulder Screw” the same as the “Mirage Screw”? What does a “Shoulder Screw” and a “Mirage Screw” do? Can I just leave it out, if not how tight should it be?
Peter
