I understand what you mean I shoot 77 smk out of my Ar15 , and have to load at saami spec for them to fit without problems , if I'm remembering correctly Vdl's work best with quite a jump , have a look on the Berger web site as it explained on there

My creedmoor is short action , I've just load up some nosler custom competition 140 gr and to start with I'm starting the load at .020 off the lands so is actually shorter than saami spec , the creedmoor is very forgiving about oal , even if I load touching the lands it would be just over oal but not by much , but saying that if you go down the Berger vld route they my be quite a bit over oal , and you have to be careful with the load , as the dies can end up seating the bullet by pushing on the maplat instead of the ogiv

I even run new Lapua and sako brass through the full length die , just incase there's any damage in transit and all my brass starts at the same size maybe a bit ocd but it works for me

That's basic reloading practice , if it's been fire formed in another rifle to resize the brass

Hi
Out of the list the only thing I can say is not to use the privy it's cheap enough but not very consistent , why practice with a round that's so far away from you carry round , I'd practice with your carry round , if price is a real concern I'd just shoot less , what's the point of knowing what a practise round will do when you ' really need to know what your carry round will do , -

The heavy head is bigger so for a given oal it takes up more room in the brass so increasing the pressure for a given powder load

If your after speed go for s lighter bullet , the energy of the bullet will be the same lighter and faster = heavy and slower , but the heavy bullet should be better in the wind
