528yrds, was the biggest, nastiest 2 liter Mountain Dew bottle I had ever seen. Just happened to be at the right place at the right time! Luckily it stood still the first 7 shots, LMAO!!

Very nice stock design!! Would this incorporate the stock aluminum recoil lug or would it be supplied with a steel one?

Thanks for getting back with me on the requested info. Do all the Tikka mounts you offer come with the integrated bubble level like the one pictured? I don't think I would ever need the higher cant but the 7 MOA version would work out nicely!

I'm going to give the recoil pad a try first but am still looking at adding at least a little weight. If I can't get it higher in the forend I'll just place in the corners and round it up as much as possible. Maybe do one side of the forend at a time and end up with a V type channel. On the butt end of the stock I suppose I'll just turn it upside down and add weight up high. This would help keep the weight as centralized as possible with the bore and should take some of the muzzle flip away when fired if I read that post right. Thanks all for the excellent info!!

I'm also using the Wheeler Fat wrench. I've never had it calibrated but I have no reason to doubt it.

I have a Limbsaver 10011 saved in my watch list on ebay that I'll probably pick up this Friday. I'll give that a try before adding any weight. Let me know how the brake works out tomorrow when you get time.

Thanks Jason, I will probably wait till you offer the part as I'm not in a huge hurry.

Did you do the work yourself? That paint job must have taken quiet some time to finish!

As part of the new mag system I'm working on, I figured I would manufacture a nicer bolt stop here in the US to cut down on cost.
This sound like an excellent idea, just keep us posted.

I'm also very interested in this! I'd like to use 30-06 magazines or something similar so I can seat the bullets out to the rifling and still use a magazine for loading.

I've been using 45in/lbs on my action bolts but I'd love to know the factory specs!

Scope “mount to receiver” and “rings to rail” use in-lbs. 15 ft/lbs would strip the screws. Good luck.
Good catch, that was a typo on my part. I meant to write 15 in/lbs.

Please let me know how it does if you don't mind. I'm interested in how well it actually works (recoil reduction), how it affects accuracy, and how well it says in place under fire. What kind of mark up is there going to be in place to get them to the US for us? I'm not having much luck getting a local smith to respond to my emails so this may be the option I go with. You can PM me with the pricing or just post back here, whichever is best.

HSS in Australia have a brake available for factory Tikka varmint barrels. They are comparitively cheap and need no gunsmithing. It maybe worth a look, and I intend to get one myself soon. wwwhss.net.au
My barrel isn't threaded though?
Just Googled it, that would be very cool!! Thanks!

Well, OpticsPlanet had too many crappy reviews for me to be comfortable. Also, people said they'd say something was in stock when it really wasn't. I'll keep looking around for the scope. I appreciate your offer Jason, but I have a whitetail hunt August 24th and I'd really like to have the new rig set up by then if possible.
This just happened to me to be honest! I purchased a EGW HD 20moa base from their ebay store. 2 days went by and I receive a email stating that the item wasn't in stock but should be back in stock in 5-10 or if I'd like to substitute I could take the 0moa version immediately. Well their version of immediate and mine are two different things because it took 3 emails and a phone call to get my order switched to the 0moa. I just hope it shows up tomorrow like it's supposed to!
