    Hey anubismp and welcome!
If you have the coin, a T3 Sporter in 6.5×55 with the threaded barrel might be your best option.  I would prefer the 24″ but the 20″ comes pre-threaded for brakes and suppressors.

The Sporter in that cal is going to be my next rifle if I have my “d'ruthers lol.
Best prices now are about $1450 U.S.

Sweet rifle!  I have seen several 300 win mags and 338 mags (used) for sale at cabelas in elk river MN.  They were camo with synthetic stocks mostly, bore hunter models? I think.  I bet folks bought em and found out a light magnum kicks like a mule.

For any “trigger snob” , you will not easily find a better or more adjustable trigger than any T3.

At least that is my experience.

    Welcome and btw
Jason is working on mags for Tikkas so you might be able to follow Dog down's advice and still have the mag capacity. For low price (relatively).

Good question!, I was told there are several “Prime or regional” dealers around the country that have or can get everything Beretta imports to the U.S. (except for branded special models made for large retailers).  One of them is SoDak Sports in Aberdeen SD.  I would call one of these dealers and see what they can get for you.

This info is all hearsay of course – I am not a Beretta insider lol.

This may be a good time to explore doing a custom gun on a Tikka action.

I have been using an inexpensive Tipton bore guide, but would like one less prone to leaking.

If I was working up a load for long distance with a 1:12 twist I would lean toward the 60 gr JLK Low Drag (LD) flat base HP or any decent BTHP in the 55-52 gr range.  I don't have Brian Litz's book handy but you might be able to go a touch heavier than you expect.

When I get home I'll check the book.

Al, sorry if I am asking an obvious question, but are the pins there to resist torque only?if so, how much does the action bolt's torque play a role in torque/recoil stability?

Whatever bolt face you end up with, I would consider meloniting the barrel for these “barrel eater” cartridges.
