I'll sure give the hornady a try. If it means one less gun to have to load for then I'm all for it. Trying to keep my kid supplied with ammo for whichever rifle he feels like shooting is a real headache…lol In a good way though. He's 14 and has tagged out on elk and deer all 3yrs he's been legal to hunt….he puts in the trigger time though so kudos to him.

I'm shooting the 150gr Federal fusions in my 270WSM and they have been amazingly accurate. My son shot his elk with it this year, and they are HAMMERS on elk even though they're designed for deer. He pancaked her at about 275yds and she never twitched. Her vitals, looked like the were put in a blender on the puree setting. I wish they were available to the handloaders, they don't have a real high BC, but to 400yds we have had no trouble plinking rocks across canyons. To me that's a reasonable hunting distance that's often encountered, and they perform spectacular.

I didn't get any kind of testing information with either of my Tikkas, maybe they've recieved enough calls asking what their actual test bed ammo is and so they feel inclined to support their customers (doubtful but hey…lol) ? Just out of curiosity what caliber Tikka did you purchase ? If you're not currently a handloader there has to be someone on here that has had good luck with factory ammo of some manufacturer other than Sako. I'm not in a tax bracket that allows me to buy that high dollar stuff.

One thing is for sure about Tikkas and this forum, and that is that most people aren't on here looking for help trying to get their rifles to group. You go on any other forum and people are pulling their hair out looking for the “Magic Recipe”. On here it's almost boring listening to yet another person shooting .5moa groups…lol. I love my 270WSM, it's flippin deadly with anything I feed it…I can't say that about any of the other 7 customs I've had built, still own and now sit in the safe because I can count on my Tikka delivering !

Yes the Tikka will handle any cartridge out there! They're built nearly identical to a rem 700 with the 2 large recoil lugs and same diameter bolt. You can load a 300win mag till hell won't have it and you're going to be the only thing being hurt, not the Tikka action. I'm a speed freak, and load everything to a safe MAX LEVEL but definately hot. My 270WSM love them hot and shoots it's best with compressed loads of IMR7828.

Hello, another 7mm Rem mag fan here. I'm not trying to hijack your post or anything and have been following the replies to gain somemore knowledge about the 7mag and any bullet/load combinations. I have a question about another caliber you mentioned. My question is about the “Bighorn” you mentioned, I've never heard of it, would you mind talking about it a little more if you have time please ? Thank You.

Yes, Pacific tool has built all my other reamers and I own them and the drawings. Everything is signed and dated and photocopied then sent to Dave Kiff. I keep the origional drawings.

Elkhamr here, I talked with a gentlman at LRI ans he strongly urged against the build I was planning which is a 25RemSAUM On a T3Lite. He claims to have built a few and they didn't work out and the rifles were returned because they didn't perform as expected. He said if he does the job he can't guarantee anything and wants me to pay half for a special carbide reamer theen the rreamer becomes property of LRI When the jobs complete….UMMMMM NO I DON'T THINK SO !!! It's my drawing with my case design with signature and drawing date so the reamer will be property of me and me alone !
