My main reason is not to have a shortened magnum its because its the only rifle I have and I don't think I can afford a new one. If I saved for a while a .308 could work better but Im just trying to work with what I got. I would still be shooting out to 200-300yds.

Eric, I am trying to gain more maneuverability while hunting in thick forest so I am debating cutting the barrel for that reason. I need a short barreled rifle and am seeing if this would be a good route to go

My reason is being a magnum the loss of speed wouldn't be as significant as say a 270win,308 or 30-06 if I was doing the same thing.

Thats a good looking brake, not too bad given the USA currency exchange. My main issue is finding someone locally who can do the work. I might have to possibly wait to do any mods until I am on the mainland cause shipping can be killer to Hawaii on larger items.

Ive used the DNZ Gamereaper one piece mount for my T3. Im running a Zeiss Conquest HD5 3-15×42 and never had any issues, it's rock solid and super light.

Been loving the Zeiss, I do a bit of shorter range hunting (50-200) and the 3-15 works really well on 3x and the 42mm objective keeps the whole package relatively compact for the actual zoom range. I have a B&C Medalist sporter  on my T3 270wsm. Love it, pretty light with a decent recoil lug system and was able to see on average a .15-.25″ decrease on my groups versus my factory wood stock. The ram was shot at around 100yds prone off my bi-pod. I didn't get an exact range as we were stalking a few sheep and they busted out of the forest into an old lava flow and presented me with short window to take a shot. Happened really quickly but I got a clean heart shot and he only went a couple yards.

I have a medium on my t3 with a 42mm objective and there is tons of room and could def go with a low. I got medium so it gave me the freedom to go to a bigger objective in the future

I have a T3 Hunter in 270wsm. With the factory walnut stock I had plenty of play with the recoil lug and I was getting 1″ groups with factory ammo. It would benefit from a bedding job.

Thanks so much for the input and advice. I ended up going with the Zeiss. In the end the Rapid Z 800 reticle matched my caliber perfectly and I don't plan on dialing with my turrets. The less math and calculating I have to do in my head the better and I won't need the exactness of dialing.

All I have been able to find here are Federal PowerShok 130gr and Fed fusion 150's. So far surprisingly the Shoks seem to shoot better shooting just under 1 moa at 100yds.

When I have been hunting with my T3 in a stand I just press a little harder and slowly take the safety off with my thumb and can operate it with no sound

Got the recoil pad and manned up a bit and held on to my rifle a bit better and had no problems. It is much better and I am getting used to it and shooting sub 1″ groups. Love this rifle.
