I am a huge fan of 300 WSM. In fact that will most likely be my next T3 purchase. Just as soon as I find the right price. I have had great luck with the 300 WSM taking down big game from small WT deer to large elk and oryx at distances from 100 yards to 400 yards. 168 grain Berger VLDs have been the most used bullet but I am researching the 190 VLD currently. Good luck with your choice. I am sure your 7mm will be just fine.

I ordered a Bell and Carlson from Stockys that seems pretty nice. At least it looks good. Whether it shoots good remains to be seen. Not enough time at the range yet. I will post some picture soon. Price was fair and shipping was free.

Thanks for the explanation that really helps. My DNZ rings came and the testing with some Rem 100 grain core-lokts will commence tomorrow. Hope is not a strategy, but I am hopping that this is the final fixes needed to get my T3 shooting again. I need to send in some pictures it looks great. The only problem no one cares about a good looking rifle that doesn't shoot good. Thanks for all the advice. I am sure I will be asking for more in the future.

Thanks for the intel. I just ordered some DNZ mounts. I think you are right the Warne rings are good just not inherently gripping as much as the DNZ design. Thanks for the loading thoughts. How do the lighter bullets work on deer? Also how did you bed your Tikka?

Just a quick update…I put the Warne rings for Tikka's on the 25-06 and have seen a dramatic improvement in the accuracy. It is now printing at 1 MOA, not quite as good as when I first purchased the rifle but better than a week ago with the Tikka rings. I am going to try some reloading next or try some different rings. Thanks for all the help and useful comments.
Does anyone have a pet 25-06 load they like for the T3, maybe using the Hornady 117 SST bullets?
I was using Hornady 117g SSTs with RL17 and Hornady brass.

I am new to this forum, but I am not new to hunting. I have never shot the 708 but I have experience with the 7mag and many other 30 cal rifles. In my humble opinion the 708 is not a good beyond 400 yard big game rifle. It is just not going all that fast and if the shot placement is off just a little you are not going to get lots of penetration. I have heard accuracy is great and most shoot the round well due to light recoil which is important. I like the 7mag but it is a jump up in recoil. I would feel more comfortable with a 500 yard shot with a 7mag. All of my longer shots though have been with a 300WSM or 300 Weatherby. All my 308 kills have been close. I would also only hunt with premium bullets. Good luck. Oh and sorry I have not shot a T3 in anything more than a 25-06. My guess is the 7mag kicks pretty good.

Sorry I don't have any real suggestions for the pouch. You could try cabelas or look at something made by blackhawk. You could also try making a custom Kydex mag holder and put a belt loop on it. This is just some random thoughts.
Really I have a question how is the recoil on the T3 in 300WSM. I have to say 300WSM is a favorite round for me but my 25-06 T3 kicks pretty good. Thanks

Question to any who might help. I have a T3 25-06 and it used to shoot well like 1 inch groups at 200 yards. Then is fell apart like 2 inch groups at 100 yards. I am now thinking it is the original rings. I have changed scopes ammo and stocks. What set up is best. I am thinking of the Warne Tikka rings, but the rail system looks good too. I have had good luck on other rifles with Warne rings. I also like USA made steel. I have read some good reviews about DNZ game reapers also. So what does everyone think. I am about to just get rid of the rifle if it doesn't return to its good accuracy. Oh and yes I did clean the barrel it is in great shape. Thanks
