You can never go wrong with upgrading your stock. Look at Manners stocks. That's what I have and couldn't be happier. They bedded it and put in a BM. Now I can use AI mags.Â
As to what to expect. Accuracy usually increases. The stock is a lot more ridged. Damn near bullet proof.Â

Is this “Shoulder Screw” the same as the “Mirage Screw”? What does a “Shoulder Screw” and a “Mirage Screw” do? Can I just leave it out, if not how tight should it be?

You can take the screw out if you want. Shoulder screw and mirage screw are the same thing. 37L1 gave a good picture for the use of the screw.

Lost track of this thread. The fifth screw on the front of the rail is for a mirage band.Â

Would you be willing to do a little torture test? Like put the safety on and hit the butt of the rifle on the ground a few times to see if it releases the firing pin. Then disengage the safety to see if the firing pin releases. See if you can pull the trigger with the saftey engaged. Those are all I have heard complaints about. if you would be willing to do that I would really appreciate it. Thanks
I've both “slammed” the butt on the floor and tried to pull the trigger whilst in safety and this was fully safe.
By looking at the mechanism itself it shows that this will be pretty impossible.The safety doesn't lock the action so you can empty the chamber without using the safety, that's nice!
All in all I'm very happy with my Jard trigger and since it's so cheap just order one and swap out the horrible original one 😉
I'm using the 14oz model.It only costs about the same as a descent bottle of single malt Whisky (Scottish that is) so there's no excuse not to buy one!

I actually like torture testing products. The environment and mountains out our back door make for some excellent testing grounds. One product that just failed a torture test was the standard EGW rail. Even with the tactical rings mounted and torqued correctly, it was damaged under the recoil of my ultralite 270 wsm with a heavy scope on top.
FYI the HD EGW passed the test.
If it will stop raining/snowing here, I'll get some more range footage and get that trigger video posted!

Ya kinda worried me about the EGW rail failing but then saw the HD one passed. That's the one I have.

I'm more than happy with my Jard 14oz trigger I swapped to last week.
No issue with safety although it requires virtually no force to move it… This is good to know if you plan to hunt with a Jard trigger.
On the quality side I can't feel any difference between my new Jard trigger and a friends Jewel trigger.I hate the original Tikka triggers since they are so heavy to use and this one really changed my rilfe!

We haven't. Our web guy disappeared on us… Soooo we're hiring a new one.Â
Jard also redesigned their Tikka triggers so we had to do a new test on the current version and I am almost done editing that video.
In the mean time we set up a YouTube channel and will start loading videos shortly.

Bedding will always help if done correctly. But getting one moa is good depending on what bullets you are using. Experiment with a different bullet before bedding. You have not have to do it.

I agree the stock Tikka trigger is great but has two downfalls I do not like. The U clip that pressures to hold the safety together. Also the cast safety selector. I dropped my rifle and it popped the U clip off. The whole assembly basically came apart and my safety selector broke in half. So that's why I want to change it to something else. Looking at pictures of the JARD trigger it appears to have a better assembled safety. One question I have is I have talked to a few people that have used this trigger and they claimed you could still pull the trigger with the safety on. To where it would fire. Have you noticed this or heard of it? That's only thing that is stopping me at this point from not buying it.

How does she shoot?
My best 5 shot group at 100yds is .15″. My best 5 shot group at 600yds is 1.7″.
