I have a T3x lite .308 plastic bottom plate. I replaced it with a MT metal plate.

The gal at Mountain Tactical said the acton specs were 45-53 . The 3rd screw is the forstock screw.  I can back the action screws back down to 40 or so but that seems sort of loose.

I have sighted it in at 100 yards and shot several boxes of different types of ammo at 200 and 250 yards. It shoots like a dream and I love it. Best I can tell is that different rounds shoot differently at different distances. All within acceptable parameters. I only use a front rest and it is very accurate. I have the feeling that any stray shots are operator error. Prolly gunna put the MT recoil lug in soon, jut to increase the long term accuracy.

I have several tikkas and it is my experience that the excellent barrels don't require much “break in”

From a practical standpoint, clean em after 5 or 10 rounds, do it again after 20 more and then treat the sako barrels like any hunting rifle.

This is exactly what I have done. I have probably put about 50 rounds through it so far while cleaning it about 4 times during that and then the one time after. Shoots straight and I love it.

    Why Pro Shot ?

They look nice. part of my reason is that I have some credit to use up at Bass Pro Shops. I don't think they carry Pro Shot, although I have seen those in person and they do look very well made. On those, Stainless or coated ?

It was just an observation. I usually hunt with lever guns but my eyes are getting as old as I am, so I went with the scoped model. I do love it. Shoots super straight. I can carry it on my right shoulder, and it would eliminate that problem.

The most common way is clean the bore every shot for the first five shots then clean after every five up to 25 shots then you done , that's how I did mine

I think that I will do that.

Although I did just watch video of a retired Army gunsmith. He said it is not necessary on any gun and says its a waste of time.

I am going to do it anyway …

What is the suggested break in process ?  I mean I have read the info on the forum and other as well. Seems to be many opinions as to the method as well as those who say it is not needed. Maybe I will just shoot it and run a patch through it and repeat several times unless someone can provide me with a reason to do something more specific. I am always willing to ask and listen.

Great. I did get the new T3x in 308 stainless. I went with the Game reaper Med as well. I like it and the one piece construction seems to be nice and stiff. I did not get a reply to my query so I chose the Game Reaper because I really liked that it was one piece. Big fan of the KISS principal. The picatinny rail and 2 rings equals 3 pieces and I won't be changing scopes around to it made sense to me to go with a one piece unit. Have not sighted it in yet. Stoked to go do that.  ;D
