Tikka t3x tac a1 concern, wanting to know if others having same issue
Hello Guy/Gals….
Recently bought the TX3 Tac in 6.5, haven't even shot it yet, just got a scope mounted on top ( vortex razor gen 2 4.5-27×56 ) i have other tikkas and love them.
My problem is when i fold my stock it is hitting the chassis, I noticed when i picked it up from Cabellas it had a little nick in it, i realized the stock was hitting it, i heard it making that knocking sound but i thought it was Normal, now it seem as though that little nick has gotten a little bigger,
Is anyone else having this issue, or is this something that needs to be addressed ?

Hi Rick, my TAC A1 has the same issue as do three others that I have seen locally. I contacted Beretta who had me send it in. After they inspected the rifle I was told that it was within specification, that they had checked out several other TAC A1's and they behaved similarly when the stock was in the folded position. With that response I contacted the Beretta's Tikka Product Manager and reviewed the general issue, that the stock would quickly mar the receiver, and that the rifle, when carried in the folded position generated considerable noise. He appreciates the issue, confirmed that that the folding mechanism was not adjustable and has forwarded the information to Tikka Finland, though owing to European summer vacations it would likely be three or more weeks before his notes would likely be reviewed. He committed to following up with me with their response. The Tikka Product Manager seems like a great guy who knows his products and enjoys firearms—will hope that Tikka comes up with a fix, including one for early adopters. In the interim, I've placed a small transparent silicone “pad” with a self adhesive backing on the affected receiver area to serve as a “bumper”. Best wishes, Cliff

I really appreciate the info, sounds like it needs addressed, mine came out of the box like that and it wasnt till later i noticed how it was happening. I plan on using the same bandaid method you mention above. I hope they can resolve this issue quickly and take care of those who have already purchased.
For a brand new never fired riffle, it is somewhat bothersome to see the nick !

I'm using a rubber bumper as a temp solution….a fix will be welcome.
