New t3x ctr burr on bolt
Posted by Eric B on January 11, 2017 at 6:54 amHi, I'm new to the forum and just brought my new T3x CTR home tonight!
One small concern I have is a casting burr right at the bottom of the bolt handle where my hand rubs when cycling the bolt. I guess this could be an electrical contact point from where the Cerakote was applied?
I also noticed a chip and some small scratches on the bolt shroud.
I could probably stone down the burr, but don't want to mess up the finish.
Am I just being picky, or is this standard fare on modern rifles?
Thanks in advance for any insight, and also thank you for having me on this forum!Eric B replied 7 years, 11 months ago 3 Members · 4 Replies -

I'm not familiar with that model, do they come Ceratoated, or did you have it Ceracoated ? Whatever the case is, the problem needs addressed no matter if it came from the factory that way, or if you had Ceracoat applied. To me, the rifle should be flawless and to your liking, since it was your hard earned money shelled out for their product!

Your not being picky I'd first of all to try and get it changed for another one

Thanks for the replies guys.
The bolts on these rifles come coated black and are larger than standard Tikka bolt handles. Looks like a rough finish Vera kite to me.
Guess I'll get with Beretta and see if they'll cross ship me another one.Off topic but still relatng to quality control, should the very front screw on the scope rail fit flush? Mine is no where near screwed in all the way, and I don't see a counter sink bevel under the screw head even though the screw is beveled.

Figured the screw out! It's for a mirage strap. If you have one of these, DON'T tighten this screw! You will mess up your rail. The mirage strap goes on like a hook, and this screw is factory set.
Thank goodness for the internet
