First rifle
How's it going first time rifle buyer for hunting I usually am just a bow guy but finally broke down and bought the t3x in 300wsm. I'm wondering which rings and base I should get on a budget for 3-9×40 pro staff. I've searched the forums and it seems the optilocks are the best but they also have the worst price tag. I was looking more at the leupolds. When I was searching them on basspro all they had were the white tail hunter base which I'm assuming is probably the same. What else do u guys recommend. I'm just a deer hunter not a big target shooter so I don't need anything crazy just something that's functional and will do fine with the recoil. Thanks in advance.

Hi Chris,
I shoot 2 – 300wsm rifles…1 rifle is mounted with Nightforce Ultralites, and the other is mounted with Leopold PRW steel rings….the cheaper Leupolds are holding just as good as the Nightforce rings…
I did have trouble with cheaper “aluminum” rings on a 30mm tube and the 300wsm though…including Vortex. The scope would move during target shooting.

Not to make a n issue but most rings will work well if you Lapp them
Even the free tikka ones
