Buying a T3 CTR .308
Hello,
I am a new shooter and it has been a goal of mine to ring the gong at 1000 yards. To help accomplish this I have decided to purchase a Tikka T3 CTR (2014 model) in a .308 due to the abundant availability of high quality ammo. I plan to start at 200 yards and progress from there to 400, 600, and then 1000 yards. I plan on purchasing 2 scopes, the first of which will serve me while I shoot the 200 and 400 yard targets. It will be an inexpensive scope with a decent reputation to save me some $$$ after a big rifle purchase. Once I am better I will get the second very high quality optics scope for the long stuff. Does this sound like a solid plan?
Anyway I look forward to joining the Tikka community and growing with it.

Why don't just use one high end scope for all the distances your going to shoot

Because it will take me another 3-4 months to save the money for quality optics and I at least want to get started shooting the short distances. Perhaps I will just go for a Vortex PST and call it done.

Nothing wrong with vortex there a good mid price scope
