New guy from TN
Posted by Chowda on July 22, 2025 at 1:08 amI recently ordered a T3x Superlite 243 Winchester from Sportsmans Warehouse. It should be ready for pickup on 7/28. I have a Remington 700 adl 200th anniversary in 243 that I plan to sale in order to help finance the Tikka.
I also have a Remington 700 SPS in 7mm-08 that my dad gave me. I will never get rid of it. It sits in a Boyds Pepper Laminate stock.
I happen to love the 243 caliber and, from what I’ve heard/read, Tikka is as accurate and reliable as you can get at it’s price point.

I have a ticket a T react super light in 7 mm magnum. I’ve worked up a couple of loads, but I have shot some MOA one group at .387 and .432
I added a fastback butt pad, a unadyne muzzle break, and bottom metal because it was a bit to shoot being so lite weight but now its a kitten at 7.3 lbs with scope

I’ll be picking up the rifle tomorrow. I ordered a set of Talley rings and a Burris Signature HD 3-15×44 scope for it. Don’t really need that much zoom but it was at a decent price.

Got the rifle set up with Talley rings, the Burris scope and Limbsaver recoil pad. I realize the limbsaver is overkill for 243 but so be it. I took the time to clean it good and torqued the action screws to 35 front, 40 rear. I can’t wait to get out and shoot it. I also adjusted the trigger as low as it’ll go and 3 pulls showed 2.5lbs each pull. This is a really nice factory trigger. I usually install 3lb Timney triggers but am leaving this one alone.
I have factory ammo in 100gr Winchester Power Point, 100gr Core Lokt, 100gr Norma American Whitetail, 95gr Federal Fusion and 100gr Hornady Whitetail to try. I also have handloads from a guy I know that use 100gr Hornady Interlock bullets. The rifle has a 1:8 twist.
