Picatinny Rail
I've just ordered a Picatinny Rail for one of my Tikka M595's from Third Eye Tactical, I can't wait to get it fitted, it feels like the end is in sight at last for the modifications to what is currently a standard off the shelf rifle. 🙂

Are you gonna trim the end that sticks out over the barrel flush with the action? A hacksaw, file, and emery paper works pretty good.

I'm hoping I wont have to trim the rail, if it does need doing, I have a friend who is good at gunsmithing, so I would just ask him to do it.
The one on order ended up being a 20MOA model. I hope it all comes together okay. 😮
I will post in the Pictures section in a few months time when the various rifle accessories all come together.

When I had my Swarovski mounted the extra rail length was fine with plenty of clearance. When I changed to a Leupold LR/T I had to trim the extra bit of the rail off. I really depends on the length of the transition from the main tube to the objective and how low you want to mount the scope as to whether or not the rail will need to be trimmed. Good luck and shoot straight!

Thanks. On the Third Eye Tactical rails – it turns out that they are flush with the action with no overhang, so wont need any trimming.
