what does it take?
to switch my T3 from short action to Long action? I am still in the process of rechambering and am considering a 6-284 so i dont have to mess with fire forming. I know the bolt stop has to be replaced/modified but how hard is it. After spending $850 bucks for barrel and all i dont want to spend another $100 to change the bolt stop. I believe i can drimble the mag. to fit.

Still driving yourself nuts over this… Can't help you much with the what does it take. Someone here should be able to answer your question on the bolt stop. Hell, you might be able to do the mod yourself. Does your bolt actually stop where the casehead of the cartridge in the mag is or does it go all the way to the rear? I never really looked at any of mine that closely. I know that I had a couple of my 223 mags modified to shoot the heavies… the 223 bolt goes all the way to the rear.

Got thinking about this a little more… I don't think that you will need to do any work to your bolt-stop. The 284 was designed as a short action round. Unless you are really looking to shoot the VLDs or long and heavies, you should be more than fine in a short action configuration.
