hunting with Tikka Sporter
Just came back , Saw 20 pigs about 415yards across the river ,I have this Bushnell 1000ARC rangefinder it gave me 24” drop on my Tikka Sporter 6.5X55, my buddies and I were waiting for 2 hours watching those pigs coming closer, when they were 200 yards away about 2” drop , I took the shot. Pigs started to run ,the one I was aiming ran too ,but slower than others, I could not take another shot because of the brush ,just heard splash when she went in to the river .We found her ½ mile away with double long through shot ,I cannot believe those pigs just don’t want to die 😉

What type of bullet are you using? Here in Pennsyltucky, I shot a whitetail doe a couple of years ago with the 6.5×55. I had chose the 120 Nosler Ballistic Tip because I figured it would be pretty explosive on a whitetail. Well, punched her through the ribs, dime sized hole going in, quarter sized hole going out. She ran 75-100 yards but what a blood-trail! I was really impressed with the lack of bloodshot meat… as they say… You could eat right up to the hole. FWIW, I was loading those with a (Nosler) max charge of H4350 which by their book should be pushing it around 3000fps. They shot absolutely fabulous… one ragged hole at 100yds, and when the Gods smiled upon me, have shot them into 3/4″ at 200yds. This is from a T3 Stainless Lite. I do love that rifle and cartridge…

I am using Harnady 140gr A-Max with 47gr RL22,smooooking 2900fps, 0.5MOA 200yards ;D
