I'll say the M595/695 for the perfectly fair reason that I own one. Seriously though, these sure look to be far-more rare.

T3 is much more appealing.
Accuracy on T3 is at least not less good than the older models!
The scoperail is far better on the T3 as it's not demilled as on all other tikka models.
The availbility of factory spare parts for T3 is good, and for all discontinued models a constant trouble.
The availibty of T3 aftermarket parts is really good and very poor for the others. So the question is really, why ever go after anything else than a T3?

My vote goes to the 695/595 series. The action was smoother for sure, and when i built my 695, the gunsmith said it was as square as some custom actions he's seen….that's saying alot! I've shot a T3 in 300 wsm, and it's a great action, I just prefer my 695.

Not sure wich is better but the bolt runs smoother in my 590. This is because my 590 has seen (15 years of) more action. I like the 590 factory steel magazine. Sure there is steel mags for the T3 also if you shoot a short action caliber. T3 takes the cake if you want a bolt on chassi system. Both are super accurate and I like the triggers. Both guns are in my safe for good.
Just my two cents gents. 🙂

After working on many examples of all the models i'd say stick with whatever you have, Tikka make a robust long lasting accurate rifle. If i was going to buy a Tikka today and was faced with a choice of T3 or an older model, i'd go with the T3 simply due to the availability of aftermarket parts.
The older models can however be made to work with AICS magazines, you just need to machine the action to accept the mags. Fitting a Rem 700 AICS mag system to the older Tikka's is a relatively simple machining task. but far easier is fitting a T3 AICS mag system to a T3. Our RCS chassis can surely be remachined to accept the older models ( but unfortunately ive no older actions here to try it out with) McMillan and a few other companies will machine you a stock for the older actions also..The T3 is getting popular because of its value for money. and that will see the growth of the after market parts industry follow suit.

Sako A7. ;D Just kidding ;). The T3 is so appealing due to it's value for the buck. Hard to beat it from a price standpoint. As far as the two,595/695 VS the T3 it's a dead heat. There are offsettting features both ways. The 695s I've been around didn't set my world on fire. Nice but not spectacular.

From the ones I've owned,I'd have to say they are about even. Now if was the LSA/M 55 and 65 series vs the others……….

Owning examples of both would be the easiest solution. That way you would never have to contemplate if you made the right choice. 🙂
