Tikka T3 Sporter question

Hello,

I just ordered one and am waiting on delivery. I have never handled a Tikka before and was wondering about single loading the rifle. Can I just drop a round in the ejection port and close the bolt? Will it feed smoothly without feeding from the magazine?

Single loading a Tikka is not a smooth as an open top action. I always get the round started a bit with my pinky before closing the bolt. It helps keep everything smooth.

Hello,

I have never had trouble dropping a round in, and racking it, onto an EMPTY magazine. I've done it hundreds of times breaking in new barrels.
