Torque Wrench
Posted by Deleted User on September 7, 2011 at 6:05 pmI finally have all my optics gear ready to mount. Which kind of torque wrench do you guys prefer to get to the recommended torque settings on all the pieces? This is my first time with all this and I want to make sure I get it done correctly.

I like the Wheeler FAT wrench myself.
Used the Weaver one and broke two of them the two times I used them. I returned them and paid the little extra for the Wheeler one.

Any caliberated inch pound wrench will work. Wheeler Fat Wrench is popular.

I'm also using the Wheeler Fat wrench. I've never had it calibrated but I have no reason to doubt it.

Thanks for the responses, sounds like I need to pick up a Fat wrench.

I haven't heard of Wiha. Are they new to the market?

Borka is good. I prefer traditional screwdriver types and this is accurate and easy to use.

They've been around for a long time. Wiha is a German company that's probably best-known for their lines of hand tools that take interchangeable bits.

I picked up a recalibrated (used) Utica TS-35 for around 50 bucks. Great product and a good deal if you can find one used.
