2 things spring to mind , have you torqued the action correctly ? Slacken the Front screw on the action If it rises the action is under uneven tension , if this is so I’d bed and piller bed the action , also does/did the bolt face need opening up for the .338! if so was it a good job is the walls of the bolt face too thin 🤷♂️
