I know this is a long dead post but just in case people are looking to do this mod now as I have, I thought I'd post what appears to be an updated mag style, meaning the modifications necessary are slightly different ( and much easier ).
The pics should explain the process.  Basically theres a metal insert which form fed lips at the top , and the bits off the back just need to be trimmed down ( make sure you leave enough on the bottom one to bend it up so it still catches in the mag – when you look in there you'll see what i mean).  The only thing now is that the slide is a bit short , so will plastic weld some material on the rear of it to take the slack out of it until i can get a spare .308 one which should be big enough to make fit.

PS don't bother stuffing around with screwdrivers to poke out those two little plastic pins at the bottom of the mag to split it , just grab the top/bottom and twist and they'll come apart- its plastic not glass.
