No, as I can remember they are rather M3,5 threads, with fine threads or so. You can find it sometimes at Brownells, and you can find a link somewhere here in this forum for a very cheap source. I made them up from Leupold scope ring screws I guess.

No pics, but I installed one with a large carbon fiber knob. The longer length plus large knob is much more convenient to operate, especially with an upcoming hunt. I like it!

So after all you managed to disassemble it, right? Or still need some help?

I've not got one in front of me but from what I remember once the cup is over it the spring can't come off so bending it back to size might be ok. Its sprung steel so should be ok to close up again and push the cup over. For peace of mind though a new one is probably best.

Sorry only just seen this and sorry for the misunderstanding.  Pull back the cup at the front of the spring and you will find a small clip once that is prized off it all comes apart.

Thanks, but I know how to disassemble the bolt, it's described even in the rifle's manual. What I would like to know is how to disassemble the firing pin assembly, what you take out of the bolt. I want to change the spring alone.

Based on pure phycics, the best way to soften recoil is to put more weight onto the rifle. The only thing that speaks against it is if you do stalking a lot while hunting. For every other shooting more weight does good.

Very good summary, but the very first point about bone on bone support is not necessarily true. There are much more sources saying bone on bone suport is NOT recommended, than those who say it is good practice. You dont want to put your rifle on too hard surface anyway, and bone on bone is pretty hard compared to “flesh on flesh” support.
