Thanks for your reply. It seems because of the short round ( about 3/8″ shorter than 222) the front of round pops up before it reaches the chamber. I don't think the bolt is holding it down, however I will very slowly move bolt along to see exactly what is going on. Thanks again for your comments.

Thanks to info from Robert at mountain Tactical I just dropped off a new left hand Tikka T3 hunter  chambered in 222 to re-barrel and fit for 17 Fireball to E.R. Shaw custom barrel works.
