I am relatively new to target shooting and this is good advise although I try to do as above it is not always easy when you are starting out

This website sells a yellow single shot follower that fits in your mag and allows you to drop in any length round you can load. I use one for F-TR competition, and shoot a long 80 gr Berger at 600 yards.

I saw a post from last year where Jason McHann was working on a mag modification and hoped it would be in the shop by now.
