Maybe reviving an old 2017 post? Well, here's an update from 2019.
I just bought a new Tikka T3X SS/syn in 30/06. In 2 different places
(Pages 13 & 115) in the supplied manual it says to torque the action screws to 62 in/lbs.My intuition sez that's way and Hell to tight! Snooping around on Beretta USA website I see recommended torque as 25-30 in/lbs.
I also see where people have contacted Beretta Tech Support, and they were told 51-52 in/lbs. I've also seen the torque figure of 44 in/lbs.So…..since Feb 2017…up to the present time…Tikka/Beretta has not had the time to correct the typo in the manual??
To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. My opinion of Tikka/Beretta has dropped a lot, and I've not even fired my new rifle yet.
…..and I absolutely do NOT NOT know the correct torque figures for the action screws on my Tikka!!!
Even if Tikka/Beretta _DOES_ contact me, I see no good reason to believe whatever kind of “stuff” they may present to me. See no reason to believe them.
