Glad I could help. I have had good luck with 140 grain amax and 143 grain hornady eldx pills. Here they a couple of my “go to” loads.
143 hornady eldx
46.5 grains h4831sc
Fed 210m primer
Coal of 2.90140 hornady amax
47 grains h4831sc
Fed 210m primer
Coal of 2.87.These loads are pretty slow at 2570 and 2600 fps respectively. However, they are extremely accurate. Dime size 5 shot groups at 100 yards accurate. I have been using prime brass because I had it on hand. Purchased some Lapua brass 2 weeks ago. I am hoping better brass will get me a little higher velocity. Also, I just scored a couple pounds of h4350. Have read good things about increased velocity with h4350. I have a bunch of new test loads awaiting my trigger finger. I will make sure to post some results of those test loads. By the way, I believe the biggest factor in my load make up is the coal. So far, different charges have not really had too much of an impact on accuracy. Adjusting my coal has really been the ticket to tightening groups.

The outside diameter of my CTR barrel is a little over 20 mm or .82 of an inch. This measurement was taken 1 inch from the muzzle threads.

Twins, I realize this thread is a bit dated. However, I wanted to check in to see how your CTR is shooting. I have owned one for 2 years and cannot be more happy with it. I have been able to develop some loads that are getting me on steel out to 700 yards. Good luck with the new rifle. Hope it shoots as well as mine.

I may be interested. I have been looking for an upgrade to my CTR in 260. Could you send me pics and price?

Dog, thanks for the insite. I bet the 190 pills do a bang up job on deer. I have been a hornady fan for a while. Have started shooting the eld x in my 260. However, I have been interested in the nosler long range pills. Think I will try both.
I did pick up the 300 wsm at my local cabelas this afternoon. Pretty excited to get it out to the range. Will post some pics when I get the fat boy set up. Thanks again for all the help.

Scooter, take a peak at this link: http://www.eurooptic.com/tikka-t3-tactical-300-win-mag-jrtm231.aspx. Is this what you are speaking of? I have found a few of these.

Ericbc7, I don't mind the abbreviation at all. Thanks for the insight. I do have a bead on a used stainless lite at my local cabelas. I tend to stay away from used rifles. However, It is as you described. Looks like it was shot just enough for the previous owner to decide they really only wanted a 308. Dog down, was the LOP on the B&C longer or shorter than the standard tikka stock? Also, what loads have you had the most success with? I am looking at heavier pills with higher BCs. This info is much appreciated.
