Anything in the 50-55gn weight run great out of my 22/250.
In the end I settled on 55gn Hornady V-Max at about 3400-500fps.

They do shoot like nothing else around and my 22/250 has out lasted anything I've had in the past.
I send it back like you say but there is so much paperwork and hassles to get your guns out of Australia let alone get them back in.
It ends up more trouble than its worth.

I've got a couple of good GunSmiths to choose from so to re-barrel anything is never a big problem.
I'm going to get it in 6.5×284 again but with a really short throat so I can shoot the lighter prodigy's.
Hornady do a 95gn V-Max that i've had my eye on for a while.

When i whistled he crouched down facing me so i put it square in his chest so no exit wound.
I use my 6.5×284 when I want to have some fun.
It turns them inside out.
