That sounds like it might be the problem.  The chamber and barrel (especially the chamber) should be free of oil before you fire the rifle, otherwise the chamber pressure can rise dramatically. Hoppes no. 9 is fine for cleaning the oil out, but also follow up with dry patches and get the Hoppes out too. Also you don't want any oil on the bolt… Read more

Often new guns will have grease or oil in the chamber and barrel. Did you clean that out first? If not, clean thoroughly with a good solvent and then use dry patches. Then shoot again. If it does the same thing then go back to the dealer with it and explain the problem.
