I have never owned a 7RM so can't help there but imagine it kicks a bit in the super light. For deer, the lighter bullets should be effective and reduce recoil.I replaced the factory butt pad with a Limb Saver Ait Tech and it really is not bad. I am not very recoil sensitive as I mount scopes and sight rifles as a hobby/past time for my friends.
