Black hills ammo sells a 77gr .223 round that shoots well in my 1:8 twist. If just looking for something to break in the barrel and have some fun, midway has Fiocchi 50 gr v max on sale.

Don't expect best accuracy with that light bullet, but I have read decent things about this ammo and it holds together in 1:7 guns I've heard. I would caution against the steel cased stuff- save that for a “fun gun”. Also palmetto state armory armory recently had Speer gold dot 64 gr ammo on sale for $9.99/20. Not sure if still on sale.I get decent groups with 53gr bthp's but those are not loaded ammo – and not nearly as accurate as the heavys (still at or under an inch at 100 yds).
Also Brownells has Lapua .223 brass on sale for $44.95 which is good price!
