I'd float it right to the action…especially when its a sporter or lite barrelled rifle. I get the best accuracy by doing this with my Tikka rifles, but a lot of debate on this.
I'd only consider adding bedding in front of the action if it was a long heavy barrel, that being said…I've actually never had to do it with any Tikka to date using varmint barrels.
