I have purchased a good quantity of Win 180gr. Ballistic Silvertip and some 180gr. Federal and Winchester Power Point to start off with. I had thought of getting some Barnes, but it's not as available locally and I'd have to purchase online. Plus I figured the heavier 180gr. would be a tad better for Elk.

It is difficult to quantify the reduction in recoil I get with the Witt Machine muzzle brake, but when shooting Hornady light mag 180 gr 30-06 off the bench, the rifle jumps off the bags far less than without brake.

Thanks for the info! I haven't shot it yet, but had thought of getting a brake. I shoot a Remington 1187 12 gauge slug gun for deer here in Ohio and figured so long as the felt recoil is equal or less than that, then I'll survive…;). The new stock had a recoil lug bedded into it, no need to re-use the old one. I'll take some pics when I get a chance.
